“When You Boo Me, It Hurts My Feelings” – When Danica Patrick Lectured Hecklers at Pocono

Former NASCAR and IndyCar driver Danica Patrick once had a run-in with fans who booed at her. She had enough of it and instead of walking past, decided to confront them head-on.

As per an old video of the confrontation, an angry Danica said, “I’m a person too. I have feelings. When you boo me, it hurts my feelings. Please, just be supportive fans. I’ll do everything I can. I can only do so much. So please understand that.”

The reason for fans booing her was that while she was signing autographs and her security shooed the fans away.

As it turns out, the fans were booing all the drivers who refused to sign autographs. But did Danica do the right thing by confronting the spectators head-on? Or was it right for the fans to boo drivers for such a minor issue?

Danica’s IndyCar win was of paramount significance and still serves as an inspiration for many female drivers across multitudes of formats of motor racing.

Back in 2008, when IndyCar was racing in Japan, Danica Patrick blitzed past Hélio Castroneves to win her first ever IndyCar win. Although she did not initially lead the majority of the laps, she managed to clinch the lead only on the final laps. That day became a significant piece of history, as she was the first woman to win a race at IndyCar.
