“Why Didn’t You Wreck Him Again?” – NASCAR Spotter’s Unconventional Question for Ross Chastain After His Denny Hamlin Episode at WWT Raceway

Many would say that Ross Chastain, after doing what he did to Denny Hamlin during the Cup Series race in Illinois, did the right thing by not reacting to the Joe Gibbs Racing driver making his “point.” And they’d be right.

But spotter Brett Griffin doesn’t think so.

In fact, he believes Chastain should’ve done more than follow Hamlin like a sheep.

“Ross got punked, after he wrecked Denny. Like he put him in a wall and he let Denny keep messing with him,” he said. “Why didn’t you wreck him again? Get him out of the way. Send another message because he made you look like a punk after you wrecked him. He slowed you down.”

“Why didn’t you spin him out and keep going and run your race?”

“Now Ross ended up with a pretty good finish but I thought he looked punked,” Griffin added.

NASCAR spotter believes Ross Chastain hasn’t been bitten by his enemies yet

TJ Majors, the spotter of NASCAR driver Brad Keselowski and Truck driver Hailie Deegan explained why Ross Chastain driving in St. Louis could come back to haunt him when the playoffs come around.

“I think he mentioned himself, continuously making these moves to do this stuff. It’s eventually gonna bite you at some point. And I don’t think it’s bit him. I just think the guy slowed him up a little bit,” Majors said.

Majors emphasized that at this stage of the season, Chastain should be making friends with other drivers instead of doing what he’s doing.

“Now is not the time to make the enemies. Now is the time to build as many friends as you can going into the playoffs, because you wanna be on good terms,” he continued.

“I don’t feel like it’s over.”
