Why Is Kyle Larson Also Called ‘Yung Money’ by His NASCAR Competitors and Fans?

In NASCAR circles, many drivers have been known by different nicknames and monikers. From ‘The King’ to ‘The Intimidator’, to ‘Superman’, ‘The Candyman’ and many more, these nicknames only added to their personalities. As it turns out, Kyle Larson also has a nickname of his own, namely ‘Yung Money’.

His nickname came about because of his adaptability in any racing series. To be precise, he has the ability to race in any car and even win. Interestingly, the Yung Money tag cam in his early USAC career, courtesy a series official. Apparently, they recognized his talent and helped him cultivate it.

How has Kyle Larson performed in the various fields?

In the NASCAR Cup Series arena, Larson has accumulated seven wins in his career. His latest win came at the 2021 Pennzoil 400 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Since the season is still ongoing, there are plenty of chances for him to add to that tally. Especially since he is racing for the Hendrick Motorsports team, one of the best NASCAR teams out there.

Even when he was away from the stock car racing scene, he still thrived. Larson has also proven his mettle in the Midget Car racing circuit, with a number of wins under his belt. Even in the Xfinity and Truck Series, Larson has snagged a handful of visits to Victory Lane.

Kyle Larson even amassed wins in the K&N Pro Series, ARCA Series, and WeatherTech Sportscar Series. This includes a win at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. The #5 Hendrick Motorsports driver has also snatched plenty of Late Model wins and even won the Chili Bowl Nationals.

Now, the 28-year-old is in the thick of the NASCAR Cup Series title fight in 2021. For the moment, he lies fourth in the championship, with a win and a handful of Top 10s. Unfortunately, he had a bit of a hiccup at the Bristol Motor Speedway dirt race, where he finished 29th.
