The NASCAR Cup race at Homestead-Miami concluded with William Byron reaching Victory Lane. In the process, the Hendrick Motorsports team set up a record to be proud of. Apparently, a Hendrick Motorsports car has always won at least one race in every season since 1985, a 36-year streak.

To be honest, William Byron was in fine form during the race. He won, in spite of starting all the way back in 31st place. It just goes to show how unpredictable racing is, that a driver starting near the back can win a race. Under different circumstances, in a different sport, coming from that far back is hugely difficult.

However, NASCAR has proven multiple times that pole position does not always guarantee a win. The two races at the Daytona International Speedway and road course were also the same. This is because the regular pole-sitters failed to convert it to a win, namely Alex Bowman and Chase Elliott.

What can William Byron and Hendrick Motorsports do from here?

William Byron follows on the heels of Michael McDowell and Christopher Bell on the 2021 race winners list. Without a doubt, it is highly unprecedented that the first three races would have gotten three different winners. Of course, it is worth mentioning that McDowell and Bell are first-time winners, while Byron grabbed a second career win.

So, the race will be on for everyone to either continue the trend or break the streak. There are many drivers who are capable of winning, it is just a matter of who will win the rat race. William Byron is an excellent driver and thoroughly deserves the win, but he knows that he needs to be on his toes.
