WATCH: Trevor Ariza Shoves Trae Young on Being Nutmegged

Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young tried to execute another nutmeg during the game against Portland Trail Blazers but Trevor Ariza denied him.

In the third quarter of the game between Portland Trail Blazers and Atlanta Hawks on Saturday, Young almost went past Ariza with a nutmeg. Although the ball went through Ariza’s legs, he was alert enough to stop Young from moving past him albeit illegally.

Shoving off a 21-year old during a game might not be the best of things that he has done in his 14-year career, but the 34-year old made up for it at the end of the game when he showed some love towards Young.

Trae Young has a great start to 2020

Saturday’s game against Trail Blazers ended an impressive February for Trae Young, who has averaged a double-double for the first two months of the new year. He also finished Saturday’s game with a double-double registering 25 points and 15 assists.

Young has now averaged over 30 points per game and 10 assists per game for two months in 2020. In his sophomore season, he has become the youngest player to do so for two consecutive months. He is also the fifth player overall to do so after Oscar Robertson, Nate Archibald, Russell Westbrook, and James Harden.

Although Young has shone in his sophomore season, it has been very good for the Hawks. After playing 62 games, the Hawks have managed just 19 wins in the season. With a 0.306 record, they are 13th in the Eastern Conference.
