A few days ago, the city of LA got the surprise of their lives. For the first time since 2011, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James took the court of the Drew League, pairing with Compton native and Chicago Bulls All-Star DeMar DeRozan. Unsurprisingly, they won the game on the King’s emphatic Drew League return. However, one of his opponents is still living the game.

Dion Wright made quite a buzz during his matchup with LeBron. Number 21 had the toughest assignment of the night, guarding the King. Likewise, fans were quick to make jokes about his tough night out. Many took their time to offer sympathy to the Drew League professional for having to take on the King. However, Wright has been defending his game since the matchup.

Drew League player responds to hate for playing against LeBron James

In the Akron Hammer’s first Drew League came in 11 years, he was a magician. LeBron James went berserk scoring 42 points. It was a fit return to the Pro-Am tournament for James. He was not holding back, and Wright felt the full force. Shockingly, despite having two NBA players, LeBron’s team won by just two points. Wright had a respectable game himself, and he is proud of his performance.
