6’6 Michael Jordan and 7’2 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Share the Court in a Rare Resurfaced Photo

Michael Jordan played 15 seasons in the league with the Chicago Bulls and the Washington Wizards. In those 15 seasons, Jordan had been selected to play in the All-Star game on 14 occasions. During his All-Star reps, MJ has shared the court with some of the biggest legends in NBA history. One such rare resurfaced moment of him sharing the court with All-Time great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has been making rounds on social media recently.

Michael Jordan was first selected to play in the All-Star game back in 1985. By that time, Los Angeles Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar had already cemented his name in the annals of All-Star history with multiple selections over the years. Incidentally, Kareem holds the record for most All-Star appearances in NBA history, a feat he shares with the NBA’s new all-time top scorer LeBron James.

In the picture where Jordan and Abdul-Jabbar could be seen sharing the court, MJ was obviously repping the East. On the other hand, ‘The Captain’ was representing the Lakers while playing for the West.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has played both for the East and West in All-Star games, since he was with the Milwaukee Bucks in the first half of his career. In the picture, a 6’6 Jordan could be seen bringing the ball up the court while a 7’2 veteran Kareem Abdul-Jabbar paced right next to him. The photo is from the 1985 NBA All-Star game which had some other big names like Magic Johnson and Isiah Thomas.

The picture is as iconic as it gets, with viewers getting to see a total of 11 NBA championships in the image. Even though Jordan had not won any championships when he played in his first All-Star game, the essence of potential still remains.

All-Star veterans taking home the crown

The game between the East and the West All-Stars was an epic battle. However, by the end of the night, it was the West who went home with the win. The West defeated the East 140-129, with Houston Rockets big man Ralph Samson leading the game with the most points.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar finished the game with 11 points. As for Michael Jordan, he only notched 7 points on a 2-9 shooting. However, the All-Star game wasn’t about who scored the most points, it was rather a gala for the fans to relish, which they did.

Since it was Jordan’s first All-Star game, it was only natural for him to get a feel for the matchup. Since then, MJ has made nothing but highlights in the All-Star game, taking absolutely no prisoners over the years.
