The summer of 2022 is shaping up to be a roller coaster ride for many teams in various sports. While the NBA world is busy with free agency, the soccer transfer window is also in full effect. Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski is poised to move to FC Barcelona soon and his teammate Thomas Muller used a Michael Jordan reference to say goodbye.

Muller posted a farewell message on his Instagram account for his departing teammate. While wishing him luck for the future, Muller shared multiple photos of the duo. One of those photos was an edited version of the iconic picture of MJ and Scottie Pippen from the 1997 NBA Finals. Lewandowski played the role of Jordan while Muller put his face over Pippen’s.

Lewandowski replied using the term used to describe both of them together, “You know, Müllewangoalski”. While Lewandowski was the star of the team since his arrival, Muller played the perfect ‘Robin’ role. The German World Cup winner perfectly complimented Lewandowski and their duo was feared worldwide. Their roles can be described as similar to those of Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen.
