The NBA finals between the Golden State Warriors and the Boston Celtics are turning out to be a treat for fans. The Warriors led by Stephen Curry currently lead the 7-game series 3-2 with Game 6 just around the corner.

Moreover, this series is very special for Curry. The Warriors’ main man is looking to win the only major individual accomplishment left in his career, the NBA Finals MVP. Although his performance in Game 5 was dodgy, he is well on his way to his first-ever Finals MVP.

Stephen Curry in pole position to win the Finals MVP award

The NBA finals between the Boston Celtics and the Golden State Warriors currently stand at 3-2 with the Dubs taking the lead in Game 5.

Stephen Curry has undoubtedly been the best player this series. His 43-point performance to tie the series at 2-2 was lauded by millions around the world including stars like LeBron James.

Although he clearly struggled in game 5, he still remains the favorite to win his first-ever Finals MVP award. He averages 30.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.6 assists in 5 games in the 2021-22 finals. With numbers such as these, it is difficult to not give him the MVP award.

What is the expected lineup in Game 6?

The Dubs would look to seal their fourth title in 8 seasons when they travel to Boston to play Game 6. Coach Steve Kerr is expected to field a lineup of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins, Klay Thompson, and Otto Porter Jr. This was the same lineup used in the Game 5 victory.

On the other hand, Boston is expected to start Jayson Tatum, Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown, Al Horford, and Robert Williams II. Despite not being in the best of forms, Tatum still remains an integral part of the Celtics roster and is expected to start in the crucial Game 6.
