Apart from maintaining his superstar status in the NBA, Los Angeles Lakers great LeBron James is a proud father to his three kids and is utterly devoted to them. James’ elder son LeBron James Jr. or Bronny, will soon have to make a series of important decisions and his protective dad is making sure it all goes smoothly. Therefore, when a recent statement made by LeBron himself came out sounding slightly ‘condescending’, he was quick to reiterate it before it could be shown in a negative spotlight.

Bronny James is in his last year of high school and will soon leave for college. The 18-year-old rising star still has one more year to go before he can enter the NBA draft and he is currently at a crossroads trying to choose the right college, before hopefully joining his father in the big leagues.

LeBron James provides clarity on his previous statement

Bronny James has reportedly received offers from multiple universities and he has supposedly narrowed it down to three colleges – namely Ohio State, USC, and Oregon. However, LeBron James recently shared that Bronny still has about five or six colleges to consider. Interestingly, Bronny reportedly hasn’t received any offer from Oregon Ducks’ coach Dana Altman, but James hinted that there’s a chance his son might choose Oregon. James revealed that Altman is well aware of this possibility and has shown interest.

“I think Bronny can go to any college he wants to. All I have to do is pick up the phone. If Bronny says he wants to go there, he’s good enough,” the 4x NBA champion previously said.

Soon enough, this particular statement by James began making the rounds, and shortly afterward, the 18x NBA All-Star took to his social media handle to shed some light on the meaning behind his statement.

“Don’t like how that came out. Basically saying Bronny is good enough to play at any school but ultimately it’s his decision! What makes him happy is all that matters! We’re a proud family regardless,” James wrote in his Instagram story.

Bronny James makes his dad proud

LeBron James’ eldest son is currently all over the news and all for good reasons. Amidst the speculations regarding his ultimate college destination, Bronny was also included in the Boys West roster for the 2023 McDonald’s All-American Game, and ‘King James’ is beaming with joy.

LeBron, who was named the McDonald’s All-American Game MVP in 2003, took to social media and wrote, “Congratulations Son! So damn proud of you! Continue to be you through it all no matter what!! You’re truly AMAZING!!!”
