In sports, there is often a saying that the ones who deliver under pressure are truly great. Kobe Bryant is a player one would find atop the list. The ‘Mamba’ was a cold-blooded killer on the court. He hit countless clutch shots in his career. However, the one over Dwyane Wade may be one of the best shots of his career.
Unsurprisingly, Wade is one of the top 75 players in NBA history. The three-time champion was also a great perimeter defender in his prime. In the matchup between the Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Lakers, things went down to the wire. And the ‘Flash’ and the ‘Mamba’ went up against each other.
However, Bryant came through in the pressure situation and hit the buzzer-beater to win the game. Recently, Wade reacted to the shot Bryant hit on him.

Kobe Bryant wins the game with a fading shot over D-Wade
In the 2009 All-Star game, Wade accidentally broke Kobe’s nose. He later tried to apologize to him. Surprisingly, the ‘Mamba’ said that he loved it. And the next time they met, Kobe made him pay. However, 3 years before that, the ‘Mamba’ hit one of his best shots on Wade. While reacting to the clip, the ‘Flash’ was just a Kobe moment.
He said: “Luckiest shot ever. Kobe Bryant hit the game winner on me. One legged fadeaway on top of the key, it was such a Kobe moment. I actually couldn’t be that mad because I looked said and said, ‘It’s Kobe’.”

Being a competitor himself, Wade said that he was furious after the shot went in. However, when he saw it was Kobe, he couldn’t help but let it go. After the game, Bryant went to speak with Wade and he jokingly told the ‘Mamba’ he didn’t want to talk to him.
This just goes to show how Kobe could prevail despite being under tremendous pressure. Wade was one of the top perimeter defenders in the league and Kobe hit a fading three while guarded by him. His skill level was unmatched and when it was time to win it, the ‘Mamba’ always went for the kill.
