The Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is on the verge of creating history as he could be surpassing the All-Time scoring record held by another Lakers legend, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Recently NBA Commissioner, Adam Silver gave his take on the timeline of when King James would end up surpassing the 7’2 legend. Meanwhile, Silver’s words on the four-time champion elicited the NBA world’s attention, creating a buzz on social media.

On Jan 15, James crossed the 38,000-point mark and became the second player to do so in NBA history. Currently, he is just a few points behind the Lakers legend’s tally of 38,387 points. Speculating on this, the NBA Commissioner gave his prediction which was certainly not well-received by the fans.

During a press meet prior to the 2023 NBA Paris Game, Silver predicted when the 18-time All-Star might end up breaking the All-Time scoring record. The NBA Commissioner expressed that the four-time champion(38,104) would likely surpass Abdul-JAbbar(38,387) ‘in the first half of February’.

If Silver’s prediction is correct, it would mean that James would end up being the highest point scorer in NBA history just before the All-Star game in Utah. Silver further added that the All-Star Weekend would be ‘the perfect opportunity to honor him [James]’.
