Former Teammate Snubs Luka Doncic Comparison With LeBron James for 1 Crucial Reason

In-game 7, Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic played well against Chris Paul, Devin Booker, and the Phoenix Suns. The fans are looking forward to seeing them advance to play Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and the rest of the Golden State Warriors team in the Western Conference finals.

After his last performance, many came forward to express their thoughts on this. In their conversation, they discussed how they see Luka coming out with the team at this stage of the season. Former NBA sharpshooter JJ Redick discusses this on his YouTube channel, discussing how Luka is doing well and comparing that to how LeBron James performed in 2007.

Especially with the performance, he gave in Game 5 of the 2007 Eastern Conference finals. James’ performance gave height to the Cleveland Cavaliers when he was just 22 years old. The way Luka has appeared against the Suns resembles James’ performance in 2007. 

JJ Redick’s view on the Luka Doncic situation with the current season

JJ discussed on his YouTube channel how Luka’s style of taking could be more challenging than what James did during his prime. Here’s what he said at the beginning of the discussion: “It’s hard, it’s hard to watch the Mavs play right now and be like yeah I’m going to pick against Luka.”

He was then asked about his thoughts on those comments that are coming on Twitter where fans are saying Luka’s performance is reminiscent of James 2007. In response, he said:

My argument against that is that the Western Conference is much better and Phoenix is a much better team than you know the Eastern Conference was back then. That was pre-Celtics and obviously, the Pistons were still very good but again though that group had been together and not been for like four or five years so they were not on their last leg they had a lot of mileage on that team.”
