The reigning NBA champions are in the midst of turmoil this season. The Golden State Warriors are the 6th seed in the Western Conference, with a disappointing 36-34 record. With constant injuries to star players, and struggles to win games consistently, the Warriors look far from a championship-contending team. Despite the return of Stephen Curry, the Warriors still don’t look anything like the championship-winning team from last year. That might be because of another star being out for a prolonged period due to personal reasons.

Andrew Wiggins has not suited up for the Warriors since playing the Washington Wizards on February 13th. The 6’7 forward has been away from the team due to personal reasons and the Warriors don’t seem to expect him to come back anytime soon.

No official update on Andrew Wiggins’ return

Even though the Warriors’ front office has displayed patience with his absence, many Warriors fans however do not feel the same way. With Wiggins earning around $34 million this season, fans expect the 28-year-old to at least reveal the reason for his absence.

One frustrated fan tweeted, “The reality is that as long as Wiggs doesn’t release some type of status information- officially, this endless drama will not stop. I’m not saying that he should disclose his personal matters, but it’s time that he definitively disclose his playing status. Is he returning or not.”

Here are some other reactions from fans expecting an update from Wiggins:

However, most fans are hoping that the situation improves for Wiggins soon. Many fans understood the severity of the situation and asked the others to let Wiggins deal with it however he likes. Most of them offered prayers for the former Timberwolves star.

While most of the fans asked for support for Wiggins in this tough time, a few hoped for more clarity from the Warriors star.

The Warriors have supported Wiggins unconditionally

The frustration of fans comes from the perspective that Wiggins had signed a huge five-year contract shy of $150 million during his time in Minnesota. And fans believe that anyone who is being paid that much money should not be missing out on so many games.

However, the Warriors front office and his teammates have shown nothing but love and support toward Wiggins. Not only that, but no one from the Warriors organization has revealed anything and has been very tight-lipped about the whole situation.

Hopefully, the Warriors are able to fill the gap that Wiggins has left. As for his absence, prayers go out for Andrew Wiggins and his family during this tough time.
