Shaquille O’Neal, apart from being recognized for his basketball prowess, also has an unshakable devotion to his family. Even though his marriage with Shaunie Henderson eventually ran its course, he continues to be committed to his role as a father, upholding traditional ideals of providing for and protecting his loved ones.

Recently, the devoted father gave a 2X NBA All-Star a harsh reality check, dragging his daughter into the scene.

In a recent episode of The Rich Eisen Show,’  the guest host, Suzy Shuster joined Shaq. She also happens to be an Emmy award-winning sports commentator. The duo discussed a wide variety of topics, ranging from the recent playoff series, how the various teams are faring, and also Victor Wembanyama, the No.1 pick for the San Antonio Spurs.

The host then asked Shaquille O’Neal about any advice that he had for the 23-year-old player who recently found himself in hot water. Shaquille O’Neal then firmly states that he doesn’t have any advice that he can offer to the player. He stated that there is a difference between a mistake and a choice. And considering how this wasn’t his first time committing this misdemeanor, this clearly isn’t a mistake. Shaq even went on to drag the family’s daughter into this mess.

Shaq said how he always prioritizes the higher power. He considers his mother and family to be a higher power, apart from god.

He said, “I love my mom. How would my mom feel sitting on the couch watching me do something like that,” while referring to the Ja Morant controversy. He brandished a gun, not once but two times on Instagram lives.

Shaq admitted that he’s not perfect and that he gets the urge to, for example, “punch a guy in the face.”However, what stops him is the thought about his family.

He said, ” Momma not gon like it. Okay just walk away.” Continuing on this, Shaq said that Ja Morant has the responsibility to think about the higher power. He said, “For him, the higher power should be his family and his daughter.” The Memphis Grizzlies player’s daughter is now three years old and she has often been spotted at games.

Shaq also revealed how he had to fall back on stuff once he started having kids. His kids represent him so what he does affects his kids as well. He said, ” They represent me and I represent them.”

Shaq has fathered 6 children in total. He had his kids Me’arah, Amirah, Shaqir, and  Shareef with his ex-wife, Shaunie Henderson. He fathered Taahirah O’Neal with his girlfriend, Arnetta Yardbourgh. Shaq also considers Myles B O’Neal, who is his stepson from one of Shaunie’s previous relationships.

Each of Shaq’s children has accomplished extraordinary things, which gives their father a great deal of pride in their own achievements. The oldest, Taahirah, has made a name for herself in the professional world. Shareef, Shaqir, Amirah, and Me’arah have emulated their father’s achievements by making lasting impressions in the world of basketball. Myles on the other hand, is a model and musician and also a self-made millionaire.

Meanwhile, Ja Morant’s basketball career and sponsorship deals are in jeopardy following the incidents. Nike has reportedly removed Ja’s iconic shoes from their app and website, according to TMZ. It’s interesting to note that his new pair of sneakers can still be found in the SNKRS app’s “upcoming” section.
