The NBA off-season has given the Brooklyn Nets some serious scares. For the longest time, the staus of both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant were both in the air. It all started off with KAI. The seven-time All-Star was linked heavily to a reunion with LeBron James in LA. However, Irving put the Nets’ heart at ease by opting in for his final year. KD on the other hand was only monitoring the situation thus far. However, one statement from Shams Charania sent shockwaves through the entire league.

Durant is one of the biggest names in basketball today. The Sim Reaper has a resume only a few people in the history of the game can top. The former scoring champ made his big off-season move a few years ago joining Brooklyn with Kyrie Irving. However, their time together hasn’t given much to the 12-time All-Star. The former MVP is yet to add to his championship cabinet since his Golden State Warriors days. And it seems KD has closed the chapter with the Nets.

Only days after his running mate opted in, reports came in that Durant has requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets. This shook the core of the NBA and even players couldn’t help but speak out.

Kevin Durant shocks NBA players

With the biggest name on the market right now, no team will rest without making a run at the Slim Reaper. Arguably one of the most skilled scorers in the history of the game, Kevin Durant is going to have his hands full. Up until now, nobody saw this move coming from the Slim Reaper. Likewise, everyone was speechless, including Durant’s fellow NBA stars. They took to social media to put their emotions into words regarding this bizarre situation.

All teams are going to be hungry now that KD is on the market. While his contract runs till 2025-26, the former MVP could look for a sign and trade opportunity. Durant reportedly has the Miami Heat and the Phoenix Suns on his radar. However, the Nets are not likely just going to help strengthen the already strong forces. The franchise will make a decision with a lot of thought and get the best of what they can for Durant.

The Slim Reaper is still right in his prime coming off an average 30 points-per-game season. Hence, his trade value is way above the roof. Brooklyn fans’ hearts have surely been shattered, but it is time to look ahead. With potentially one year left of Kyrie Irving and Ben Simmons, they can look to add a valuable scorer to pair up with the duo. But one thing is for sure, no one can do it quite like how Kevin Durant does it.
