But the recent injury to Kevin Durant could be a major setback for the team. After injuring his knee in the game against the Miami Heat, KD could miss up to one month of action on the hardwood. Following KD’s absence, Kyrie Irving has been the guiding light for the team. However, the Nets recently suffered a humiliating defeat against the Boston Celtics. Additionally, during this testing time, the Nets could fancy their chance at a $125 million star trade.

With Kevin Durant’s absence on the court, the Nets are in desperate need of reinforcement until the Slim Reaper gets back. Moreover, the trade deadline is around the corner and could help the Nets find their reinforcements.

According to a Marc Stein reportAtlanta Hawks star John Collins could be traded to the Brooklyn Nets. The report stated that the Hawks’ management has allowed Collins to trade on his own. Moreover, the Nets had expressed their interest several times in strengthening their frontcourt with Collins.

He has represented the Hawks for six years since his rookie season in 2017. He signed a five-year extension contract with the Hawks for $125 million in 2021. But, recent reports suggest that he could be traded before the contract ends.

Adding to that, Collins has played 328 games in his NBA career averaging 16.1 points per game. The current season has been his worst in terms of scoring output. Moreover, in a Bleacher Report article, the asking price for the Hawks star has significantly reduced after the team management expressed their need to trade only a quality player as a replacement for Collins. Moreover, apart from the Nets, there are several teams that are looking to trade Collins like the Utah Jazz, and the Washington Wizards.
