Kevin Durant showed incredible resilience making his comeback this year. The Nets superstar suffered a dangerous Achilles tear during the 2019 NBA Finals. He went on to recover over the next year and made his return this season. Durant looked like his old self and shrugged away any concerns about his health. But his latest injury has sidelined him for some time.

Kevin Durant on the road to recovery

Initially, Kevin Durant was only supposed to be out for a few games. But after the player was ruled out with a hamstring strain, further scans revealed that there was significant internal bleeding. Durant was sidelined indefinitely, and he missed the NBA All-Star game, despite being an All-Star captain. But it appears Durant could be back sooner rather than later.

Durant was spotted earlier this week, taking part in a short warm-up and shoot around before a game.

Durant’s recovery will come as good news for the Brooklyn Nets, as he completes one of the greatest trios in the history of the NBA, alongside James Harden and Kyrie Irving. In Durant’s absence, Harden and Irving have carried the franchise on a fantastic run, winning several games as they close the gap between themselves and the Philadelphia 76ers for the number one seed in the Eastern Conference.

Durant needed back in Brooklyn

Kevin Durant’s return could help the Brooklyn Nets secure the first seed in the East. An attacking player like him is a rare commodity, and he can decide a game by himself. Adding his attacking output to an already excellent backcourt of Harden and Irving could spell disaster for the rest of the teams in the NBA.

When will Kevin Durant return? As of now, it appears the plan is for him to return before the end of the month. However, if there are any complications in his recovery, it could be longer. The Nets are clearly not taking any risks with Durant’s recovery, given his checkered injury history.
