Much like the Brooklyn Nets last season, the Los Angeles Lakers have put themselves in a tougher spot than easier by building a super team together. Why? Well, they have far more to lose and much more to prove than the others. It’s as if having a star-studded team is more of a curse, than a blessing. Unless of course, you win an NBA championship. And that’s what most are rooting for.

However, there are some who are doubting their capability to last such a tedious schedule and make it past the playoffs. And the biggest question in people’s minds is about the number of older players in the team But Dwight Howard is there to bring some perspective.

The Los Angeles Lakers and Dwight Howard have continued to find their way back to each other. Howard was shipped off to play for the Philadelphia 76ers last offseason after winning an NBA championship with the purple and gold. But it seemed like the Lakers want to get back some of their old teammates apart from hiring new talent.

However, to everyone’s surprise, a lot of this talent actually comprised of players above 32 years of age. From Carmelo Anthony, Kent Bazemore, Wayne Ellington, Trevor Ariza, Howard, to Russell Westbrook are all going to play alongside their 36-year-old legend LeBron James. While on paper this team looks unstoppable, criticism has followed them for making this the oldest team in the league.

Questions have been raised about their competence left and right. So, when a fan on Instagram asked Howard on his Live how the “old heads” will gel together, Dwight had the most fitting response. “Bruh, we’ve been playing AAU and basketball our whole life! We’re trying to win. Ain’t no egos. Ain’t nobody going out there by themselves,” he stated.

The Lakers are being underestimated, especially after their disappointing exit from the playoffs last season. So, it will take a lot more than a super team to prove what they’re capable of. And that all depends on what they do on the court.

But this roster that has a plethora of All-Stars now, will only be able to put up a show if they stay healthy. LeBron James‘ presence itself makes this a title-contending team. With his right-hand man, Anthony Davis back, their dynamic duo will be a sight for sore eyes.

The West is definitely going to be more competitive than ever. So, the Lakers will have a big challenge ahead of them, but do you think they have the necessary tools to tackle it?
