The MVP race has been constantly changing this season. Players like Steph Curry, Joel Embiid, and LeBron James have all been dubbed as the favorite at some point in time this season.

But one name who has been a constant in the MVP conversations is Denver Nuggets’ talisman, Nikola Jokic. The 26-year-old hasn’t missed a single game this season and has been one of the most consistent players.

The MVP conversations in the league are a constant in the basketball community. Lakers legend Magic Johnson is no stranger to the same. The 5-time NBA champion has been very vocal about his choices for the MVP trophy.

Magic recently revealed that he would choose Jokic over Steph curry for the MVP trophy and explained why the Joker deserves it.

But the 50-year-old contradicted himself with his latest tweet. A couple of weeks ago, the 14-time All-Star had commented on Steph curry being the real MVP of the league this season.

Whatever the case may be, there is no doubting that both the players are arguably having their best seasons in the league. With a couple of weeks remaining in the regular season, it will be intriguing to see where can Jokic and Curry lead their respective teams to.

While players like Steph Curry and Joel Embiid have been topping the scoring charts, there is a reason why Nikola Jokic is the front-runner for becoming the MVP of the league this season.

The Joker‘ has been on a tear. After averaging about 20 points per game for two consecutive seasons, the 26-year-old has shot up his offensive output. This season, the 7’0″ center is averaging 26.2 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 8.5 assists per game shooting 56.8% from the floor.

All of these stats are career-high for the 4-time All-Star. His electrifying form has come at the best time possible for the team as well. With guard Jamal Murray out with an ACL tear, the Nuggets offense has been heavily reliant on Jokic’s offensive output.

Despite Murray being out of the game, Jokic has taken cruise control for the Nuggets. In the ten games Denver has played since the Canadian’s injury, they have only lost a single game.

They have even toppled the Clippers for the third seed in the Western Conference.
