It has been a sub-par season for the Los Angeles Lakers. While there have been sparks of brilliance, they sit 13th in the West ahead of a matchup against Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies. Ever since Anthony Davis‘ injury, LeBron James has been carrying most of the burden for the team. However, that might reduce as major injury update has given them a reason to be optimistic.

Davis has missed the last 17 games since picking up an injury against the Denver Nuggets on December 16th. The Lakers have sorely missed the 8x NBA All-Star. The latest update on Davis will come as good news though. AD is expected to return by next week and there is hope he will be available for the entirety of their upcoming 5-game road trip.

The Lakers have gone 8-9 in Davis’ absence and they’ll be hoping that his return pushes them up the table. Fans were excited by the news and they let their feelings known on social media.
