LeBron James is one of the most prolific players NBA has ever seen. Owing to his incredible performances on the court, LBJ has proved to be a beast of a player in the 17 years he has been in the league.

Last night, Bron and Co. won their second successive game against the San Antonio Spurs. After their impressive win, NBA TV compared LeBron’s career statistics to that of the entire San Antonio Spurs team in the last 17 years. The results were absolutely insane.

Not only has James played a similar number of games to that of the Spurs, he also has a similar win percentage compared to the team. LBJ astonishingly has more NBA championships than the Spurs in the last seventeen years.

Even the King was overwhelmed by seeing these ridiculous numbers. In an Instagram post, he wrote, “My homie from the crib sent this to me just now. Man I have no words!! The Spurs are the staple and blueprint of winning in our league since even before I entered the league.”

Over the years, the Spurs have established themselves as a Western Conference juggernaut. They were one of the most dominant teams in the 2000s. Given their record in the last two decades, this comparison just shows how ridiculous LBJ has been since his debut in the NBA. He makes a strong case to be in the GOAT conversations.

The Lakers have had a solid start to their regular season. After starting with a disappointing loss to the Clippers, the champions have now made a comeback and now have an impressive record of four wins and two losses.

The duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis have been key in their impressive record. While James has been consistent over the six games, the form of Anthony Davis has dictated the Lakers’ performance.

In the two games where Davis was underwhelming, the Lakers have lost. Coach Vogel will know the same and will encourage their 6’11 big man to be much more dominant.

Davis, in the six games he played, has averaged 22.6 points, 8.8 rebounds and 4 assists per game. But given that it’s just the start to the regular season, we might not be seeing the peak Lakers just yet.

Their new additions, Dennis Schroder and Montrezl Harrell, have been spectacular. Dennis Schroder has been one of the most influential players for the champions. He has started alongside James and flourished in the first six games. He is third best scorer in the side averaging 17.2 points, 5 assists and  4.8 rebounds per game.

Meanwhile, Harrell has been the spark plug in the second unit, coming off with multiple offensive boards and defensive plays. Marc Gasol has slotted in as the starting center and has showed off his impeccable passing skills. Wes Matthews hasn’t been the best shooter but has been key in defending opposition’s guards.

The team is much deeper than last season, and there are multiple players who can take the load off of AD and LBJ. Keeping all this in mind, the Lakers are certainly set for a repeat.
