Magic Johnson Sounds off on Lakers trading LeBron James While Bodyguard Tries to Intervene

LeBron James and the Lakers have had a disappointing season. Much of the criticism has landed at the door of LeBron being the star player of the team. He has been accused by critics of having an undue influence on the Front Office, which has led to him taking charge last year of player acquisitions and trade. It didn’t help his perception that many still speculate that he told Rob Pelinka (Los Angeles Lakers General Manager) to get the likes of Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony in the squad. As we all know, Westbrook was one of the biggest flops in this season. Anthony did not fare much better.

LeBron James still had a great individual season averaging 30.3 points per game. He was pretty close to getting a scoring title as well, but Joel Embiid surpassed him. James also got disqualified for not playing many matches and hence,wasn’t ranked 2nd.

Many have speculated that LeBron James will be traded this off season, due to the presence of Phil Jackson in the coaching committee. Jackson has exactly not been a fan of the man calling his friends “a posse”. This had led to a huge backlash for Jackson. But Lakers legend Magic Johnson thinks that his former team should not sell LeBron James.

TMZ spoke with the former point guard for the Lakers. The 5 time NBA champion was asked if the Lake Show should trade its 37-year-old superstar after the team missed the playoffs this season.
