The most recent episode of ‘The Shop’ has aired, and it has generated quite a buzz amongst fans. LeBron James and Maverick Carter have been hosting the show for a few years now, and each time they are joined by renowned individuals from various fields.

This time was no exception, as the guest list was littered with stars. Marcus Rashford, Manchester United’s soccer sensation, was among them. The young gun has amassed a sizable fan base in recent years with his brilliance on the soccer field.

LeBron James and Maverick Carter both enjoy watching soccer and are ardent Liverpool fans. In fact, both are stakeholders in the English soccer club. Marcus Rashford, however, did not hold back in expressing his disdain for Liverpool. Carter asked him about the team he hates. He stated Liverpool is the team he despises, but Manchester City gave him no reason to hate them.

“I don’t like Liverpool, (Manchester) City,” he said. “Obviously, Liverpool have history so it’s a bit more bitter but with City, you don’t like them but you don’t really have a massive reason not to like them. You just grow up and it’s just two Manchester sides; one wears light blue, one wears red but the rivalry with Liverpool, it’s deep,” he added.

Interestingly, Liverpool and Manchester United share one of the fiercest rivalries in soccer history. The two soccer heavyweights’ rivalry dates back several decades and runs deeper than just soccer.

James could be heard laughing in the background when the soccer player expresses his hate for Liverpool. The Los Angeles Lakers star wouldn’t mind because his team has performed admirably in recent years while Manchester United has struggled.

LeBron James is a passionate Liverpool supporter. The King frequently resorts to social media to express his admiration for the Premier League stalwarts. In fact, he has had links to Liverpool for over a decade.

He acquired a 2% stake in Liverpool in 2011, and 11 years later, he is reaping the benefits of his investment.

LeBron’s 2% stake was initially worth $6.5 million. However, with Liverpool’s success in recent years, its value has soared from $500 million to $4.5 billion. Therefore, LeBron’s 2% stake is now worth around $90 million.

While James will not always be seen cheering for his team at Anfield, he has seen Liverpool play a few times. Interestingly, his first match was at Anfield, when he witnessed Liverpool face Manchester United. He met the players as well as donated $10,000 to the club’s charity foundation.
