Kyrie Irving is still part of the Brooklyn Nets roster. The 7-time All-Star has seen very few teams take an interest in trading for him. While the Nets are more concerned about finding a trade destination for Kevin Durant right now, the lack of offers for Irving means they are in no hurry to let go of the polarizing superstar.

The Nets have been clear about what they want in return for both their stars. They don’t want to be put in a situation where they become the laughingstock of the NBA, similar to what happened to them almost a decade ago.

The latest reports indicate that Kyrie is running out of options. The Nets reached out to the Dallas Mavericks for a potential trade, but the Mavs showed ‘very little interest’. It is not surprising to see Dallas’ stance on this, as they have built a strong culture with hard work and dedication at the forefront of it all.

The last couple of years have been poor for Kyrie Irving. While his ability on the court isn’t a concern, what he does off the court is. His insistence on not getting vaccinated led to chemistry issues for the Brooklyn Nets as they got swept in the first round of the playoffs against Irving’s former team, the Boston Celtics.

If all the off-court antics are taken care of, Irving might prove to be a huge asset for any contending team. His ability to create shots for himself and set up teammates is excellent. His extraordinary performances in the 2016 NBA Finals helped the Cleveland Cavaliers to their first NBA championship.

Kyrie Irving didn’t show up for the Brooklyn Nets

Ever since joining the Nets, Irving has been embroiled in controversies. The Nets have played a total of 246 games since Irving decided to bring his talents to Brooklyn. The 2-time All-NBA third team member has only been available for 116 of those games.

While the Nets expected to win a championship with the core of Irving and Durant, their star point guard appearing in only 47% of their games surely would’ve been disappointing. The Nets’ front office will be hoping to put an end to all the drama as soon as possible.
