This was not a good season for Charlotte Hornets as they crashed out in the play-in tournament again. LaMelo Ball, the team’s all-star PG failed to guide his team to the playoffs. And now fans are clamoring about whether we overrate him as a player. Charlotte has been looking to build the team around him since Kemba Walker left them in free agency in 2019.

Lamelo became an All-Star in his second year in the league. Ever since being drafted second overall by Charlotte in the 2020 NBA Draft, Lamelo has been seen as a franchise-changing PG. Even with him improving his overall play, fans are questioning whether Lamelo has it in to change the course of the franchise?

LaMelo and Charlotte’s future

Lamelo Ball still has a bright future ahead of him as his teammates continue to improve. With Miles Bridges also taking a leap this season, foundations of a contender are being laid out in Charlotte. There might be still sometime before they make playoffs consistently, but there is no doubt about the fact that LaMelo is a future star of the league and is here to stay.
