There’s no shortage of people who see Michael Jordan as the greatest of all time. To his fans, the NBA era or other players are inconsequential, as Jordan remains the undisputed GOAT. After all, few have been able to achieve what Jordan did.

In a recent appearance, Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer seemed to agree. According to the 65-year-old, Michael Jordan is the GOAT and will stay so.

Though many players like LeBron James or Kobe Bryant often join the GOAT debate, certain fans side with Jordan all the time. Ballmer seemed confident and certain of his claim, leaving no chance for an argument from his side.

Why is Michael Jordan the GOAT for Steve Ballmer?

Ballmer recently appeared on Serge Ibaka’s How Hungry Are You?

Shaquille O’Neal Was Jealous of Tom Cruise and Eddie Murphy Despite Not Being an Actor: “I’m Like, God Damn!”

The conversation ended up steering towards Jordan, and Ballmer’s view of him being the GOAT. “He’s a great businessman. But he’s provably the best ever at what he did in basketball,” Ballmer said. He added that at the end of the day, it is difficult for him to choose the greatest businessman of all time. “Saying who’s the best basketball player of all time, for me, is very easy. It’s Michael Jordan”.

Ballmer and Ibaka also discussed a few other things. According to the businessman, he would like to have Jordan on his team. He mentioned the Detroit Pistons containing Jordan for a year or two, before the six-time NBA Champion overcame them. “Totally committed, totally hardcore,” Ballmer added.

Was Ballmer a Bulls fan?

His appreciation of Jordan’s game is understandable, especially as he grew up a Pistons fan. The rivalry between the Bad Boy Pistons and the Bulls is much talked about. Amidst their rough play and ‘Jordan rules’, the team won two titles. However, Jordan managed to beat them and win.

Ballmer also admitted to knowing Jordan a little now. The two have met at their NBA Board meeting, and will probably get to know each other more in the future.

That being said, Jordan is one of the few player-turned-owners in the NBA. Though the Charlotte Hornets is a smaller franchise compared to the Los Angeles Clippers, Jordan and his team have kept it going. With owners like Ballmer and Jordan ready to take on new challenges, it’s only exciting to see what is to come our way as the NBA progresses.
