Michael Jordan’s NBA Ring Was Found Buried in an Unexpected Location Exposing Dark Details of His Father’s Death

NBA legend Michael Jordan is one of the most accomplished athletes ever. He has 6 NBA titles to his name with the Chicago Bulls. Although each one of his title wins is special, the 1996 win holds a special significance for Jordan. The Chicago Bulls won the Finals 4-2 against the Seattle SuperSonics. And the title-clinching game-6 fell on father’s day.

Michael Jordan dedicated the win to his father, who was tragically murdered in 1993. Interestingly enough, one of Jordan’s rings helped in the investigation of his father’s murder. Police found Jordan’s NBA ring buried in a patch of dirt near a suspect’s house.

Interestingly, the suspect, Daniel Green himself, pointed out the patch of dirt which was beside his great-grandfather’s house. This revelation helped in the investigation massively. The NBA ring found beside the suspect’s house turned out to be one of the most important pieces of evidence while searching for the killers of MJ‘s father.

After the revelation of the NBA ring, police found a pistol and also a homemade rap video. The video featured the killer wearing Jordan’s NBA ring and also some of James Jordan’s jewelry. Sadly, the jewelry featured in the video was gifts given to James Jordan by MJ himself.

After his father’s shocking murder, Jordan took a break from basketball and tried his hands on baseball, which was his father’s favorite sport. He would then make a comeback to the NBA and the 1996 season was his first full season back in the league.

Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan dedicated his 1996 NBA title win to his father. Safe to say, he put on a show in the name of his late father. The Bulls defeated the Seattle SuperSonics 4-2 to win the 1996 NBA title and give Jordan his 4th ring.

 Fittingly, the Bulls clinched the title on Father’s Day. And a very emotional Jordan couldn’t control his tears. Jordan averaged 27.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.2 assists during the finals. His splendid performance awarded him the NBA Finals MVP award.

His great performance was not limited to the finals. Jordan played a huge role in the Bulls’ run-up to the finals. He recorded an average of 30.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in 82 games during the season.
