The Los Angeles Lakers have made their way to the top of the board with six wins and just two losses. They have won four games consecutively till now, two against the San Antonio Spurs and the latest two against the Memphis Grizzlies. This is largely thanks to LeBron James who has been putting up stellar performances every night.

Bad news from the clinic for Ja Morant

Things for the Grizzlies couldn’t be worse with their star player, Ja Morant declared out for a few weeks. The Point guard sustained a Grade 2 ankle injury during their second quarter against the Brooklyn Nets in Monday’s game. This happened while he was contesting a shot made by Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot.

After that, they’ve only won a single game against the Charlotte Hornets. It’s clear that the Grizzlies are suffering because of Morant’s absence.

LeBron James and Ja Morant bond post-game

Even though Morant is out, he showed up to support his team against the Lakers. After he sat through the sidelines, watching the Lakers defeat the Grizzlies again, he and LeBron had a little chat. From the looks of it, it seemed like they were bonding.

In fact, the snippet of them talking went viral on social media instantly. Even Morant couldn’t help but repost it with the caption, “My dawg”

Morant’s rookie year with the Grizzlies was brilliant. Although most of the attention was drawn away from him to rookie Zion Williamson from the New Orleans Pelicans, he has still established himself as one of the best young prospects, and a rising star of the NBA.

Last season, with his performance, Morant helped the Grizzlies tie the eighth seed with the Portland Trail Blazers. Despite not being able to overcome them and missing the playoffs by an inch, his reputation remains intact. Memphis fans can only hope that Morant gets better soon so that he can help Memphis out of their losing streaks before it’s too late.
