Coming back after the dominating win over the Sixers, the Brooklyn Nets went into the battle of New York. Facing off against their city rivals; the game was a thriller. However, with the lights shining brightest, Kevin Durant had to step up. Dropping a 50 point bomb on the New York Knicks, KD was in the mood for some talking. However, he stepped it up when he allegedly trash-talked Evan Fournier in his native language.

Kevin Durant is one of the greatest scorers in the history of the NBA. And this season he isn’t doing anything different. The Slim Reaper is one of the leading scorers of the league putting up 29 points per game this season. After recently crossing the 25k mark, he came in today in a scoring mood.

Kevin Durant scores and does more

In one of his 19 buckets, Kevin Durant took on Evan Fournier in the mid-range game. Likewise, as a master mid-range shooter, KD had no trouble nailing the shot. He called Fournier tiny after scoring right over him. However, fans noticed Durant used Fournier’s native language of French to call him too small. And they were left incredulous.

When it came time to battle, Durant put on his best. He put up a dazzling performance against the city rivals scoring 50 points for the 8th time in his illustrious career.

The Nets offense was all KD, who logged in with Kyrie watching as a spectator. He dominated the game, scoring 53 points, 6 rebounds, and 9 assists in the 110-107 win. He was the only player to cross 20 points for the Nets, which helped them withstand the Knicks’ three-player onslaught. Andre Drummond came in with a valuable 18 points and 10 rebounds double-double in just 26 minutes.

For the Knicks, all their three scoring stars showed out. However, it wasn’t enough to get past Kevin Durant. Julius Randle led the way with 26 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. In addition, RJ Barrett isn’t slowing down from his rise, posting 24 points and 3 steals. Evan Fournier had an efficient night for his 25 points, shooting 62% from deep.

The Nets’ final push is going well with the Slim Reaper leading the charge. With Kyrie still not eligible to play full time, Durant needs to step up every time they play at home. As the best offensive player on the floor, KD hasn’t disappointed at all this season. Moreover, there is no doubt he will only come out better during the playoffs.
