Some votes made little sense even to the most fans. Jalen Rose’s vote for Kyrie Irving on the third team takes the cake on how off the board it was. He then came on ESPN for Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals where he admitted he made a mistake by voting for Irving.

Jalen Rose brought up the fact that he was mesmerized by the Brooklyn Nets star, but that shouldn’t qualify someone for a spot over Trae Young whose production over an entire season has led the Hawks to the playoffs. Scoring 28.4 points per game over 76 games looks much better than playing 29 games and getting dumped in the first round of the playoffs despite being the favourites.

Despite Jalen Rose’s vote, Trae Young did indeed get a spot in the 3rd team and hence, not creating a firestorm among the fans.
