Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen won six NBA championships for the Chicago Bulls in the 1990s. The duo won the first three-peat for the team between 1991-1993. However, it would have been quite hard for them to repeat a similar feat between 1996-1998 without the legendary Dennis Rodman.

The Worm and Jordan may not have been close off the court. However, Rodman defended Michael Jordan when Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid claimed that MJ was not the GOAT.

THE GOAT debate often brings some unimaginable reactions from the fans and critics alike. Michael Jordan and LeBron James are considered to be the top two contenders for the NBA GOAT title. Many experts have a divided opinion on the matter. Moreover, Joel Embiid claimed in 2019 that he did not consider Michael Jordan as the GOAT on The Ringer’s NBA Desktop podcast.

The five-time All-Star suggested that he considered Wilt Chamberlain to be the greatest as no one had ever gotten close to his records. The 28-year-old added, “I don’t see anyone ever getting 100 points in a game. That’s it, he’s the GOAT.”

Dennis Rodman hits back at Joel Embiid

Unfortunately, Dennis Rodman was not too impressed by Joel Embiid talking down on his former teammate Jordan. He came in support of MJ just like he did on the court back in the day. During a conversation with TMZ, the five-time NBA champ reckoned that Embiid was doing a great job for his ‘little island or country’ where he came from.

Rodman continued“Shut the fu*k up, go do your goddamn job, and do Philly proud. That’s the one thing they need is a championship.”

Rodman and MJ may not have had the best of relationship off the court. But, they were quite sensational on the court. The duo, along with Scotty Pippen, achieved a great deal for the Chicago Bulls in a very short time.

Thus, Jordan and Rodman continue to respect each other’s contributions. The 61-year-old was certainly not impressed by Embiid’s comments against his former teammate. Hence, he did not hesitate from getting back at Embiid.
