Similarly, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has also called out the NBA for housing amateurs. King James hinted about the matter in a tweet that has been garnering attention lately. Subsequently, Shaq and his crew spoke about the tweet in the recent episode of The Big Podcast and seems like Shaq’s take may bring relief to his Lakers successor.

Recently, King James took to Twitter and said that he feels his son is much better than many players in the NBA.

On the recent episode of The Big Podcast, Nischelle Turner brought King James’ tweet to Shaq’s attention. “He’s right, there’s lot of bums in this league, stealing money. And I said it like how I f****ng said it, write it down, take a picture, tweet it,” replied the big man. Moreover, Shaq added, “You got dudes in here making 250 who can’t play a lick,” contrasting it to theft.

The NBA- top scorer’s opinion has prompted Shaquille O’Neal to speak about the infamous $250 million again. Last year, Shaq had gotten into a beef with Minnesota Timberwolves star Rudy Gobert. The Big Aristotle had expressed his displeasure at Rudy Gobert, who, according to him, was doing nothing remarkable and yet was making a hefty sum of $250 million a year.

For quite some time, the 2000 MVP has been expressing his contempt for those players who, according to him, have been doing no-show jobs in the NBA. Apart from his scathing remarks on Rudy Gobert, Shaq has also called out the Brooklyn Nets star Ben Simmons for similar reasons. However, Shaq has not just reiterated criticisms, he has also been repeating the niceties as well.
Even while being brutal in his criticisms, Shaq also has an eye for talent. The Lakers legend often supports up-and-coming basketball players. He has been praising the 2023 Dunk Contest winner, Mac McClung from his high school days. Moreover, the 1993 Rookie of the Year wants to see new talent coming into the league. But before they make it to the big stage, Shaq wants the young players to enjoy their college and wait for the right time to step up.
