The entrance of the Metaverse into the NBA is becoming clearer and clearer. Since several current and former NBA players joined other celebrities across the world to invest in blockchain-based NFTs. Along with teams like the Brooklyn Nets who have associated with the metaverse to provide their fans a completely revolutionary experience. Moreover, the NFT world is influenced by celebrities and their desire to contribute to charities, like Shaquille O’Neal and Stephen Curry.
Therefore, it’s not surprising that with exceptional net worths like $400 Million and $160 Million respectively, these two felt like giving back to society.

Considering that the transaction happened on OpenSea, it is publicly visibly that Curry spent 55 ETH. This was equivalent to $180,000 at that time. Whereas, the highest selling NFT at that moment went as high as $2.3 million. Which means that the internet simply could not swallow the fact that a celebrity chose to spend his earnings the way he himself deemed fit. Absurd, isn’t it?
