Another NBA billionaire is possibly in the making. Michael Jordan and LeBron James are two of the world’s three billionaire athletes. Following in the footsteps of LeBron, the baby-faced assassin Stephen Curry could soon join the list. Curry, who has been the face of the brand Under Armour since 2013, is expected to sign a lifetime contract worth more than $1 billion with the company.

Steph Curry is currently the highest-paid NBA player. The Warriors’ point guard will earn more than $45 million in salaries in 2022. Off the court, the sports shoes and clothing brand Under Armour pay the four-time NBA champion $20 million. And their current contract is set to expire in 2024.

LeBron James was the first athlete to secure a multibillion-dollar deal with a shoe company. It all started in 2003 when an 18-year-old LeBron James inked his first deal with Nike. He secured an $87 million contract with Nike, which included a $10 million signing bonus. After signing two extension contracts with Nike, LeBron and Nike eventually agreed to a lifetime contract for over $1 billion in 2016, making the Los Angeles Lakers great the NBA’s second billionaire.

Following in LeBron’s footsteps, Stephen Curry has nearly locked a lifetime contract with Under Armour reportedly worth more than $1 billion. This news was first reported by RollingStone.com. In the last decade, Under Armour emerged as one of the most promising sports brands. It serves various sports like football, golf, basketball, and boxing. So far the brand has sponsored some of the biggest sporting names like Michael Phelps, Tom Brady, Stephen Curry, and many others. Currently, the net worth of Under Armour is reported to be almost $3 billion.

The Golden State Warriors legend is also a well-known businessman and philanthropist. And his domineering influence is seen both on and off the court. And now, the 34-year-old is looking forward to creating some unparalleled records. The NBA world will be waiting for the headline declaring Curry the third billionaire in NBA history.
