Warriors’ Head Coach Steve Kerr Reasons Why Steph Curry is Disrespected

For a second, the world must have thought that the Golden State Warriors‘ dynasty may be coming to a brutal end. But then Steph Curry whipped out his A-game, and when Steph does that, there is no beating him. If a man can drop 20+ points on his worst day, imagine what he can do on his best day? Well, you don’t need to anymore because what he did against the Portland Trail Blazers tonight won’t be forgotten for years to come.
Curry’s message was loud and clear. He proved what he’s made of, once again, to those who doubt his significance in the league. After losing to the Blazers in the previous game, Curry would not let it turn into a two-game losing streak. So he unleashed the beast inside him and dropped a career-high of 62 points and carried the Warriors to a win that finished with a score of 137-122.
In fact, he didn’t waste any time in dropping buckets. His first 21 points came in the opening quarter, with 10 more by halftime. By the third quarter, he had 14 more points under his belt and hit his 50th point mark with time left during the last quarter. He made all but one of his 19 free throw attempts too.

Steve Kerr defends Steph Curry
Curry’s last career-high had come when playing against the New York Knicks in 2013 when he dropped 54 points. So even after proving himself on multiple occasions, why are his capabilities still questioned?
After the game, Kerr opened up about why he thinks Curry doesn’t get the respect he deserves. According to the Golden State of Mind, Kerr said, “Steph is, you know, 6’3, 180 pounds … so he has to carry a game with skill, he can’t carry a game with physicality and athleticism … it’s much harder to carry a team single-handedly by making 35-footers.”

The Warriors’ roster is poles apart from what it was before. A team that enjoyed five consecutive appearances in the NBA finals and won two titles has been struggling so far. That’s because most of the burden now lies on Curry.
