Al Horford has aged like vintage wine. At almost 36 years old, he is putting out world class performances for the Boston Celtics. He is one of the team’s main pieces and his experience is vital for the Celtics to march forward.

It’s been a great season for the team but also a one of a kind for Horford. He has turned back in time to be the player that they can depend on against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Today, too, he prevented the Bucks from getting a 3-1 lead. The man put up a double double to lead his team to a victory in Game 4. Putting up 30 points is not something most NBA players can do at his age. Yet, he led his team admirably.

Celtics were more than ten points behind during the third quarter, but Al and star player Jayson Tatum took it upon themselves to make the team win by eight. Ultimately, the Celtics beat the Bucks 116-108.

Al Horford in Game 4

Al Horford became the oldest player for the franchise to put up as many points since John Havlicek did it 45 years ago, in 1977. It was also Horford’s first 30+ point during the postseason. It is his first after 15 seasons in the NBA, out of which he went to the playoffs 13 times. He has recorded a 30+ point performance after 132 postseason games, a record.

At age 35, he is turning back time indeed. He hadn’t even scored 21+ points in a game during the entire season for the Celtics. Infact, his highest points tally was 22 which he put up during Game 3 against the Bucks in a losing effort.

During this game, he has hit a best of 11/14 shooting which includes 5/7 from the three point range. Along with that, he had eight rebounds and three assists.
