Winning the NBA MVP award is no joke, and it seems Nikola Jokic has made a habit of winning it. According to reliable sources, Jokic is the MVP for the 2021-22 season over the likes of Joel Embiid and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Interestingly enough, Jokic’s selection as the MVP for this season has caused major upsets. Many expected the Philadelphia 76ers star, Embiid, to win his first-ever MVP.

According to sources, Jokic is the MVP for the 2021-2022 season, with an official announcement coming soon. Although the Denver Nuggets and Jokic faced an early exit from the playoffs, his individual performances have earned him this award.

However, his win has not come without controversies. Fans and analysts around the world were convinced that Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers deserved the award more.

When asked about the award and his potential loss, the 76ers juggernaut took shots at the award while congratulating Jokic.

Embiid said, “Obviously, congrats to Nikola. He deserved it. I guess every year it’s all about whatever you guys decided, whatever fits the narrative.”

Some strong words from the MVP frontrunner! The 5-time All-Star averages 30.6 points, 4.2 assists, and 11.7 rebounds this season while shooting .499 for the 76ers.

On the other hand, Jokic has had a brilliant season individually. He is the only player in NBA history to record 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, and 500 assists in a single season. Moreover, he is the player with the highest Player Efficiency Rating (PER) of 32.85.

On the statistical front, he averages 27.1 points, 7.9 assists, and 13.8 rebounds. Although Embiid might have a better run in the playoffs, it does not take away the fact that Jokic had one of the best individual seasons.
