The Lakers are prime examples of a victim of inflated trade prices. For this reason, acquiring big names from around the NBA is tough. However, the management is ready to go all-in next season.

According to a recently published report, Damian Lillard and Bradley Beal are the two names who can potentially become a Laker in the offseason. Moreover, it seems the front office is trying to sell LeBron this idea in order to convince him to adjust to the existing squad this season.

Although taking this team to a championship will be a herculean task for the 38-year-old, he will have some help next season. With this update doing the rounds of the internet, fans on Facebook have reacted.

One fan wrote, “definitely not going to be Dame, he is too loyal to the soil”, while another wrote, “Who tf would ever wanna team up with Bradley Beal.”

A Lakers fan seemed very ecstatic about the whole thing as the user’s comments read, “Lillard and James combo would be unstoppable.” Interestingly, a user has predicted an entirely different scenario as the comment read, “LeBrons leaving to go portland.”

As the above reactions suggest, fans are in two minds regarding the whole situation. While some feel the deal would be beneficial, the other narrative suggests that it wouldn’t work out.

The two players have been linked with the Lakers in the past

It is no secret that having Damian Lillard and LeBron James on the same team would be a dream for the Lakers. Back in 2021, Lillard actually held talks with James and Anthony Davis. This came amidst heavy rumors suggesting a trade soon. However, the move never worked out and Lillard is still with the Portland Trail Blazers.

On the other hand, Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal has also been on the Lakers’ radar for quite some time as well. In fact, a Western Conference executive suggest a deal soon back in 2022. However, considering a no-trade clause in his contract, bringing in Beal would be very tough.
