Tuesday’s encounter will mark the third regular-season meeting between the Sixers and the Celtics in 2021. Both teams played a double-header in Philadelphia during January, and the 76ers ended up victorious on both occasions.

The upcoming fixture will be the final regular-season game between the Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics. The Sixers are 2-0 at the moment, and it would be interesting to see the Celtics attempting to stop the sweep.

Boston Celtics vs Philadelphia 76ers: Injury Updates and Lineups

Celtics

The Boston Celtics unfortunately haven’t touched their true potential yet. Boston fans must be truly disappointed with the team as they’re yet to break into a winning record. A team that made the ECF last season doesn’t look like it is going to repeat the performance this year.

Jayson Tatum is averaging 25.2 points per game, but the Celtics are not sound on the defensive end. This aspect should be improved soon in order to improve the current 25-25 record.

76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers have been one of the best teams in the East this season. Thanks to Joel Embiid, the Sixers are now the favorites to reach the Eastern Conference Final. While there’s still a long way to go, their formidable 34-16 record does paint a positive picture.

The team is majorly propelled by Embiid, while Tobias Harris and Ben Simmons assist him on the offense. Doc Rivers has been fantastic in putting together a positive outlook on a team that finished sixth in the East last season.

The Sixers will not have George Hill and rookie Tyrese Maxey for the Celtics game. Hill has a thumb injury, while Maxey will miss the game due to safety protocols.

Possible Lineup

Ben Simmons (G)

Seth Curry (G)

Danny Green (F)

Tobias Harris (F)

Joel Embiid (C)

This game would be intense as both teams would look to apply the pressure early on. More than the on-court battle, this would be a game between two master tacticians. While Celtics’ Brad Stevens hasn’t been largely successful this season, his counterpart Doc Rivers has enjoyed the winning taste.

Joel Embiid’s return after a long absence has certainly boosted the Sixers’ confidence. Furthermore, their clean 2-0 record against the Celtics this season implies that they’ve figured out how Boston strategizes its plays.
