He has broken multiple records, and has a chance to end his career, probably, in a couple of years as the player with most NBA points in history. In the scene, Will Smith expresses how he had lived up to become an adult. Learning everything on his own and going through important stages of his life without a father. LeBron obviously relates very much to this feeling. Even after being at the peak of his fame, he remembers the dejected feelings and hardships he had to go through.

LeBron James’ father had an extensive criminal record. For most of LeBron’s life, his father was not available for him. He had refused to support LeBron and family. LeBron’s mother, Gloria Marie James, was the one who brought up LeBron. Therefore, the scene in which Will Smith’s character talks about growing up without a father makes LeBron James emotional.
