The NFL postseason never fails to impress the fans. In addition, it turns out to bring the best out of the brightest. Likewise, stepping on the floor with a hampered shoulder didn’t stop Philadelphia Eagles‘ Jalen Hurts from putting on a masterclass. His three first-half touchdowns ripped the New York Giants defense and tore their spirits apart. After a dominant win, the Eagles’ head coach spoke about having Michael Jordan on his team.

Hurts has had a wild ride in the NFL so far. The Eagles QB had a shaky first two seasons in the league. However, he has been exceptional in his third season leading the Eagles into the postseason. Despite the injury on his throwing arm, it didn’t stop him from demolishing a tough defense at hand.

His attitude arguably resembled that of a man on a mission. Hurts didn’t let his shortcomings come in the way of what turned out to be a one-sided affair. Likewise, having such a personality makes head coach Nick Sirianni feel a world of confidence. He was so impressed with his QB, that he compared his impact to that of having Michael Jordan on his side.

Jalen Hurts resembles Michael Jordan in a masterful playoff night

His Airness made a reputation of being a fiery competitor and an established winner. The six time NBA champion would play through pain and stress to make sure he wins. Nothing mattered more than being victorious to Jordan. An embodiment of that spirit seemed to have made its way into Hurts. A shoulder injury didn’t stop him from blasting the Giants away. Likewise, his coach feels at ease having him o his side. According to The Mirror, Sirianni said he has his own MJ in the form of his QB.

The Philadelphia Eagles head coach said, “I know this is high praise, but to have him out there is like having — I shouldn’t even go there — it’s like having Michael Jordan out there. He’s your leader. He’s your guy.”

Hurts brought out his A-game in the playoff encounter against New York. He stole the game away in just the first half. Notably, the star of the night firedthree touch downs in the first half. Those included two passing TDs and one that he took into the end zone himself. Taking over the momentum with storm, it broke the Giants. Their offense couldn’t get a single TD in the 38-7 loss.

Hurts finished the night with a 112.2 rating as compared to his rival’s 53.8. The 24 year old is slowly putting his name out as one of the better QBs in the NFL.
