Packers Star Pays Homage to Lakers Legend Kobe Bryant in the Mamba’s Hometown Before Their Defeat vs Eagles

One of the greatest basketball players in history, Kobe Bryant, has been an inspiration and a source of help for many people. Besides his fans, many players across the country are inspired by his thoughts, work culture, and passion.

From time to time, players come forward to pay their respects to the legend. Recently, Aaron Jones, the running back of the Green Bay Packers, paid homage to Bryant and showed his respect for him. Along with his iconic performance, Jones is also known for wearing a green and gold sombrero on the road.

His roots in El Paso, Texas, are never far from his mind. Seeing him celebrate his culture at Lincoln Financial Field was nothing new for fans, but his addition this time has melted their hearts.

During his walk through the tunnel, he wore Bryant’s high school basketball jersey, No. 33. When Bryant was playing in Philadelphia, he would make clutch plays with the 33. It was then that he got drafted into the NBA and began his legendary 20-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers wearing the numbers 8 and 24.

Bryant spent his early years at Lower Merion High in suburban Philadelphia before playing with one of the best players in the world in the NBA. Bryant himself said as much about that period. “Lower Merion and everything associated with it made me who I am.”

The ‘Black Mamba’ displayed tremendous performance in Philadelphia between 1992 and 1996. His accomplishments ranged from being a national player of the year to becoming a McDonald’s All-American. Finally, he was drafted as the 13th overall pick in the 1996 NBA draft.

Through all those years in the NBA, he gave us several iconic performances,and inspired the younger generation to chase their dreams. He has also helped many through his foundation, the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation.

While playing for the Packers, Jones, who also wears 33, didn’t hesitate to pay tribute to Bryant. With that jersey, he walked with pride. It was a beautiful tribute from the NFL star to one of the greatest players the NBA has seen.
