NBA 2K21 Launches Season 2 of MyTeam Titled “Next is Now”

After weeks of next-gen announcements, current-gen console owners finally have some good news. 2K Sports has finally announced Season 2 of NBA 2K21 MyTeam and has named it, “Next Is Now.” 

With the NBA gearing up for one of the longest off-seasons, 2K has an elaborate six-week plan filled with new challenges and game modes coming up.

The Courtside Report has some exciting news regarding the young players of the league. It says, “We are using MyTEAM’s second-ever Season to shine a spotlight on the NBA offseason and the young talent emerging in the NBA.

For Season 1, Stephen Curry was the Level 40 Grand Prize. And now for Season 2, the Grand Prize is a Pink Diamond, Blake Griffin.

New game modes and new rewards

MyTeam on 2K20 had multiple challenge modes like Moments, Spotlight, and Weekly challenges. But 2K21 has introduced challenges for Triple Threat game mode as well.

One can now face off against some of the best trios in league history while completing these challenges.

There will be 10 Spotlight challenges at the start, and more will be added as the season goes on. The reward for completing all of these challenges is a Diamond Rafer Alston, who is also making his first appearance in a 2K game.

And for winning 450 offline Triple Threat games, a Pink Diamond Victor Oladipo is the reward.

For the Next is Now challenges, the Level 1 free agent card is the rookie sensation, Zion Williamson. Luka Doncic, Rui Hachimura, Trae Young, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will unlock later and completion of the challenges will unlock a Pink Diamond JR Smith.

With the new “Win the Weekend” Agenda groups, one can earn more XP every weekend on any game mode. Doing it every weekend will earn you a free award pack as well.

NBA 2K21 honors Vince Carter

Along with the Damian Lillard cover athlete challenge, which is dedicated to his amazing playoff series against the Thunder, 2K has launched a signature challenge for Vince Carter as well.

Players have to recreate his 42 point game from back in 2006. That will earn them an impressive 15 Tokens and a Hall of Fame slashing badge.

To get the card for the challenge, the locker code is VINCE-CARTER-GAME-WINNER, and it has to be redeemed before November 27.
