Giannis Antetokounmpo Creates History by Breaking Stephen Curry’s Record

In what many predicted as a potential Eastern Conference finals matchup, the Giannis Antetokounmpo and Milwaukee Bucks made a statement against the Philadelphia 76ers, cruising to a 119-98 win at Fiserv Forum.

After struggling against the 76ers on Christmas Day, Antetokounmpo righted the ship. He consistently put the 76ers defence under pressure with him relentlessly attacking in the paint in an action-packed 29 minutes on court.

Giannis Antetokounmpo delivered another monster game, pouring in 31 points, 17 rebounds and eight assists, for his 45th double-double of the season as the Bucks move to 48-8 on the season.

The Greek takes the opportunity to break a record of Stephen Curry. The most number of 30-point games in less than 30 minutes. The Warriors point guard had 7, Giannis now has 8. Something tells us it’s not over this season.

Meanwhile, Middleton turned in an efficient performance, recording 25 points and nine rebounds. He shot 10-of-15 from the field and 2-of-6 from beyond the arc. Antetokounmpo’s 11 consecutive points out of halftime followed by a string of assists helped seal the win for Milwaukee. They’ve now won 16 of their past 18 contests.

On Saturday, that ultimately led to the Bucks earning their 18th 20-point win of the season. That is tied for the third-most through 60 games in NBA history. Decisive wins are lead by bold star players.

“That’s what we want him to do,” fellow Bucks All-Star Khris Middleton said of Antetokounmpo. “We want him to play aggressive and prove that he’s the best player on the court every night. We’re going to be right behind him backing him up.”
