Golden State Warriors star man Stephen Curry is set to be back in the lineup as early as next month.

The two-time NBA Most Valuable Player suffered a hand injury early into the 2019/20 season. Last week, he was cleared for contact and said that he was targetting to return by March 1.

“It’s always been March 1,” Curry said after Saturday’s practice session. “But that for me mostly is just to give you a target. You have to have something to work towards in the rehab process because that gives you a barometer for each week, what you’re building towards. Like I’ve always said, I haven’t had any setbacks along the way, this has been a very long, strenuous rehab process, and it’s something I haven’t been through before, so it’s nice that I’m getting that type of response with every new challenge that I kind of go after.”

After featuring the finals of the NBA for five consecutive seasons, the Warriors have been living a nightmare of a season. 58 games into the season, they have managed to win just 12 games. Their dismal season has been a result of their All-Stars leaving in the preseason combined with major injuries to a few others.

If Curry does return for the game against the Wizards, he will have 22 games with the Warriors in which they can make a difference. The Warriors will look to end the season on a high and at least move away from the bottom seed.
