While the NBA community relies on video games and virtual simulators during these times of crisis, there are some former players who are keeping their fans entertained in other ways.  Dwyane Wade is one such influencer.

Former Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade seems to have a lot to share with the fans. He started a series called “Convos with DWade” on his IG TV channel, where he reminisces about his days before joining the game professionally. In the first part of the video, the Heat star spoke about his high school journey.

The second part has Wade talking about his college years at Marquette University. In the almost 13 minutes long video, Wade displays gratefulness that he got into the University because of a basketball scholarship.

Wade mentions how he was unable to travel or play with his team because he was academically ineligible. He goes on to describe how he would practice with the team, go out to eat and study with them. However, he could not play in matches.

“You cannot travel with your team and you cannot play with your team, but you can do anything else”, Wade said.

Further into the video, the player described his feelings when he started getting praised for his game and everything that followed.

Dwyane Wade: NBA run

Dwyane Wade spent a vast majority of his 16-year NBA career playing for the Miami Heat. He had a successful college basketball career with the Marquette Golden Eagles of Marquette University.

Later, the Heat drafted him, fifth overall, in the 2003 NBA season. In his third season, Wade successfully led the Heat to their first NBA Championship in franchise history. He was named the 2006 NBA Finals MVP.

The American led the United States men’s basketball team at the 2008 Summer Olympics. The team is fondly known as the “Redeem Team”.

In the 2008–09 NBA season, Wade led the points chart, earning his first NBA scoring title.

With LeBron James and Chris Bosh, the 13-time NBA All-Star helped the Miami Heat to capture four consecutive NBA Finals from 2011 to 2014. The Miami Heat clinched the titles in 2012 and 2013. After an amazing run playing for the Chicago Bulls and the Cleveland Cavaliers, Wade finished his playing career with Miami in 2019.

He is currently Miami’s all-time leader in points, games, assists, steals, shots made, and shots taken.
