A long-term partnership has come to an end in Washington. The iconic Wizards’ backcourt of Bradley Beal and John Wall is no more, following Wall’s trade to the Rockets. Beal wrote an emotional thank-you letter to Wall on Instagram, talking about their journey so far, and wishing him luck in Houston.

Wall replied in the comments saying: “Love Ya Brother, u know wat it is wit us…Keep doin ur thing.”

The duo played six seasons together, and it would have been eight if not for Wall’s injuries. It’s a shame that Wall couldn’t play when Beal was in his prime, although one could argue that Wall’s absence is what got the best out of Beal.

They were an electric duo and carried the Wizards team to the playoffs in four out of six seasons. These runs include the 2016-17 season, where they had 49 wins and finished as the 4th seed. They could never go past the second round, but for a team like theirs, Beal and Wall did a great job to keep them among the top teams in the East.

What is in store for Bradley Beal and John Wall in the 2020-21 season?

For Wall, he is about to play with his best teammate ever in James Harden. He has previously played with another star scorer in Gilbert Arenas, but Harden takes it to the next level.

Wall averages over nine assists per game in his career. Harden has played with Russell Westbrook, who is also known for his playmaking twice now, but Wall is much better. So Wall will help to get the best out of Harden. On the other hand, Harden’s ability to carry the team will help Wall to ease in and he won’t have a lot of responsibility as he slowly gets back to his groove.
