Jayson Tatum has been one of the best young players in the NBA. Tatum has become the cornerstone of a Boston Celtics side, which is one of the contending teams in the East.

While not many might rival on the court, Tatum’s golf course feud with former NBA star Charles Barkley has been continuing since the bubble. Charles Barkley has been having fun at The Match 3 golf competition. Tatum yesterday took a dig at the Hall of Famer and tweeted, “Chuck been working on his game I see.”

To this Chuck said, “I want Jayson Tatum. He had no competition down at the bubble. He had Steve Smith and Chris Webber that’s no competition. I want Jayson Tatum. Oh, and first of all, he just got all that money too! That’s a lot of money, Jayson Tatum”

Only time will tell who the better player is.

Are Jayson Tatum and the Celtics contenders?

The Celtics were just two wins away from winning the Eastern Conference finals. With the new season approaching, the Celtics have seen Gordon Hayward leave the team.

Boston still has a big three of Jayson Tatum, Kemba Walker, and Jaylen Brown on their team. They also have Marcus Smart in the team, but he is much better coming off the bench. They have lost their fourth scoring option in Gordon Hayward. But the Celtics are better off not giving a humongous contract to their fourth-best player, who in recent memory has been plagued by injuries.

The team also lost backup center Enes Kanter but got Cavaliers’ Tristan Thompson, who is a probable upgrade at the center position. Thompson is arguably a much better starting option than Daniel Theis. They have also added backup guard Jeff Teague to their side. Teague is an experienced guard who can provide a much-wanted rest to their starting point guard Kemba Walker.

The Celtics have also drafted sharpshooter Aaron Nesmith and Payton Pritchard. Nesmith is a great wing addition while Pritchard might struggle to get more minutes.

The Boston Celtics will surely miss the output from Gordon Hayward, but the newer signings of Jeff Teague and Tristan Thompson are welcome additions to the roster. The Celtics are a serious contender for the East but might still be a star away to be serious contenders for the title.
