NBA fans will now have a new show to watch which will feature Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green alongside Charles Barkley.

Barkley, himself a great forward during his time, has been working as an NBA analyst for a few years now.

Green will join Barkley to be a part of a new one-hour long show “The Arena.” The USA Today reported that TNT will launch the show on July 20, air nightly through July 24 and then continue into the restart of the NBA regular season and playoffs.

Green’s Warriors isn’t among the 22 teams to take part in the NBA’s resumption inside the bubble in Orlando. This made it possible for the broadcasters to have him talking basketball (and perhaps a lot more) alongside Barkley.

Charles Barkley and Draymond Green have previously had a few spats

One of the reasons the show can get interesting is the history of the words exchanged between Barkley and Green. Most notably, during the 2018 playoffs series, Barkley said he wanted to punch Green on his face. The comments which he rued and later apologized.

But the most relevant comments now are perhaps the most recent ones. In March earlier this year, Green responded to Barkley’s on-air criticism saying he would take his job.

“Barkley should stop before I take his job. Because I can do that well, too…He also can’t talk basketball with me either. Not smart enough, not qualified. No rings, can’t sit at this table,” he said.

Green might or might not have meant it literally but he will now have the job to talk basketball alongside Barkley.

The comments from Green did not go unnoticed. Barkley soon responded saying Green was nothing without the likes of Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and Klay Thompson.

“I get annoyed when these guys who are born into money think that they’re successful,” Barkley said on the “Coffee With Cal” show. “He’s like the worst member of the boy band who doesn’t realize he’s standing next to Timberlake. When the girls are throwing panties at his head, he’s going to get hit by some drive-by panties, but they’re really throwing panties at Justin Timberlake.

“Draymond’s a good little player, but without Kevin Durant, Klay and Steph, he’s just a good little player.”

It will definitely be interesting to see how the two work with one another when the show does get underway.
